Nature & Gratitude

I had a wonderful day. I spent time with friends, went to the beach, and I finished reading The Secret (a book that discusses the law of attraction and gratitude).

It's so easy to get bummed out by things, like ridiculous rent prices or a bad hair day, but there's actually an abundance of awesomeness in my life right now. Nothing like nature to put things in perspective!

Upon reaching Bunker Point, I awestruck by my view of the giant Pacific Ocean. It was stunning. The Earth is amazing. We're all part of this miraculous world. It's great to be alive! What is the meaning of life? How do rocks feel when they're hit with waves?

I sat down for half an hour and made a rough drawing of the view with my Uniball pen, but unfortunately it didn't capture even 1% of the beauty I saw in front of me. I decided that I'd go home use my Wacom tablet (for the first time!) to color it in. Without a scanner or Adobe Photoshop, I used a combination of my smartphone camera, Autodesk Pixlr's web editor, and Art Rage Lite.

I think it made a big difference, and I'm happy with the result! I had such a relaxing time admiring nature and drawing/coloring.

I'm very lucky that looking up and out at the world inspired me to do what I love.

Tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day, too.
