The Logo Story

Hello, people of the Internet!

I figured an appropriate first blog post would be the story of my logo. A few years back, I did a creative exercise that instructed me to spend an hour creating a personal brand logo. I spent half an hour scribbling and doodling variations of birds before I realized that as much as I loved birds, a bird logo probably wouldn't be the best idea.

I do love cursive though. (Fun fact: In grade school, I received failing grades on my cursive R's because I couldn't do the loop-kink thing).

I decided to keep it short and simple by making my logo my initials in cursive. I also love CAD and 3D modeling. What better way to put the two of those together? There's something so satisfying about seeing clean lines and crisp edges, and being able to create that myself gave me such a rush.

Getting to use CAD software to model and render not only mechanisms but expressive pieces of art has justified my love for mechanical engineering and it's something I enjoy doing in my free time, not just as work.

The feeling of creating something 3D and so dynamic all with some keystrokes and a mouse is so powerful, like I'm able to give life to my ideas. CAD is my design baby.

Like a mother loves her baby for life, I'll always love and be proud of my work.

Thanks for reading, and if you feel the same overly-excited way about your 3D modeling work, let me know! I'd love to connect and hear about your CAD experiences.
